With the coming of the new jet age just after WWII, and having recently become an entity of its own since 1947, the newly designated US Air Force were issued with new, slick looking nylon flight jackets. One such model was the B-15C (in Olive Drab shade). For a few years, before adopting their new arm of service colour - blue - the first nylon flight jackets followed in the tradition of the usual Army Air Forces colour - Olive Drab. The L-2 and B-15B were all produced in this shade. But it was during the production of the B-15C that the colour change came. Subsequently, most B-15C's were produced in blue, thus making the earlier Olive Drab version very rare. This is a reproduction of that earlier Olive Drab model. The B-15C is without doubt a war veteran style, seeing service throughout the Korean War and beyond. Buzz Rickson's have reproduced an outstanding version of this model. Made from an extremely authentic, tough, Olive Drab nylon, every detail is matched to the original USAF spec. The real mouton sheepskin collar is just sumptuous, and their reproduction of the Crown zipper is stunning. Their is no need to hunt for an original example of one of these anymore - you're unlikely to find one anyway. These are like unissued original stock, and a third of the price you would have to pay for the original. Authentic features include: • Authentic USAF spec woven label. Available in sizes: 36 - 44 | |||||
