Original WWII Type B-8 Goggles - Unissued

Another great offering of original WWII items, is in the form of these amazing B-8 goggles.

These have not seen the light of day since they were stored away just after the war. They are completely unissued, and in perfect 10/10 condition.

The B-8 was heralded as the goggle of the future, and how right they were. Even to this very day, the all-in-one rubber moulded frame with Perspex lens can still be seen in prevalent use. Just think of skiing goggles - it is more than obvious they are a descendant of the B-8.

Its simple light design meant it was easy to produce, and much more comfortable to wear than the heavy, metal-framed, glass-lens AN6530/B-7 predecessor.

The designation 'B-8' was given purely to the flying goggle. But so adaptable for just about any service was this design, that the US military decided to make it an all purpose goggle for all arms of service, and called it the M1944. From pilots to tankers, the B-8/M1944 goggle was the standard issue eye protector.

These are the perfect item to finish off your WWII USAAF headgear display, or even to use in your Jeep or other WWII military vehicle if you're a ground pounder enthusiast.

As previously mentioned, they are in perfect condition - the rubber is supple and as good as the day it was made.

Each goggle comes in it's original OD coloured box of issue (as pictured), along with a paper envelope containing spare lenses. Please note: some of the paper envelopes have been opened, but the spare lenses are still in there.

Although we have a reasonable amount of stock of these, they will not last forever, so grab them while they're available, to avoid disappointment.

Please note: Although their condition and serviceability is as good as the day they were made, and would no doubt function admirably, these goggles are still 60+ years old. They are sold as military antiques, i.e. collectibles. They are not warranteed for practical application.
