Standardized in 1939 by the U.S. Navy's Bureau of Aeronautics, the M-421A was the standard issue summer-weight flight jacket for all Navy and Marine Corp pilots and aircrew.

It's light-weight, simple, practical design meant it was perfect for the Pacific campaign where it saw prevalent use during WWII. Worn over just a shirt, or sometimes as an extra layer over the full-piece flight suit of the same material, these classic tan flight jackets are synonymous with US Navy airmen of the PTO.

This stunning reproduction exquisitely captures every original detail. Most impressively Buzz Ricksons have reproduced the original fine-weave cotton twill to absolute perfection. The essence of this garment in the fabric, because although light-weight it is strong due to the the extremely high quality cotton yarn and dense weave.

The arrival of the Buzz M-421A has been eagerly awaited, as this is the first time they have been made available outside Japan. And along with the US distributor we have negotiated a special production of this model with a size range going up to 46 - this may never happen again!

As with most of the Buzz products only a limited quantity is available, and we understand that it is not necessarily going to be produced again next season.
