![]() This contract's full designation was 'W535 AC 27752'. It was the last of several contracts awarded to Rough Wear for A-2s. They were manufactured for a price of less than $10.00 each. How times have changed! It was made from a veg tanned Horsehide, that was Seal Brown in colour. Other distinguishing details include: Olive Drab colour thread, an individually numbered label under the right pocket flap, Chelsea brown coloured knit, a collar stand and a Talon zip. By finding original examples which come with proof of where they were used, we can discover which maker's jackets found their way into a given theatre of operations. This can be said for the Rough Wear 27752 contract. An original example was found of the famed 'Hells Angels' squadron, of the 303rd Bombardment Group, 8th Airforce, that was based in England. It is reasonable to assume therefore, that many more jackets of this contract saw service certainly at this, and possibly other, stations around England. The Rough Wear 27752 A-2 is a true ETO veteran! Our reproduction of this model emulates every nuance of the original. We use veg tanned Horsehide for the shell, which is dyed to exactly the same shade of Seal Brown as the original - this is a paler shade than the Eastman Seal Brown. Available in sizes: 34 - 48. | |||||
