This contract's full designation was 'W535 AC 23382'. Awarded to the Cable Raincoat Co, in late 1941, it was made from a veg tanned hides of both Horsehide and Goatskin.

The company, located in Boston, was awarded with several contracts for aircrew flight clothing during WWII, this contract for the Type A-2 being one of them.

Typical of most of the pre and early war A-2 jackets, it was made in a light shade of Russet brown, with a semi-aniline dye finish, in somewhat lesser numbers than the later contracts - making original examples of these much harder to find.

We have selected a beautiful veg-tanned Goatskin, finished in the correct semi-aniline Russet brown, which will wear-in just like the original.
