Sunflower umbrella
This special umbrella is a souvenir item for the Calendar Girls stage show currently in London after a UK tour. Available in theatre lobbies while the show is on and online here.
All the work of the Calendar Girls is dedicated to the memory of John who died from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in July 1998 aged 54.
John grew sunflowers from the onset of his illness and gave them to friends and family in the hope that he would have recovered by the time they flowered. Sadly, this was not the case, but the sunflower lives on as a reminder of John's life and is the symbol of the Calendar Girls.
