ILM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership
The ILM Level 7 Programmes in Strategic Leadership are amongst ILM’s most senior qualifications. They provide practising and aspiring senior managers with a wide range of topics for their formal development as leaders in their fields. Completion will help them gain a comprehensive knowledge of the knowledge and skills required to deliver results for themselves and their employers, customers and other key stakeholders.
The Diploma is delivered through a unique blend of work based learning and executive coaching that is tailored to the needs of each student. They are very demanding programmes but the rewards can be very high.
Students will define a set of objectives designed to have a real impact on their workplace and develop these into a work based learning project. The programme is then delivered using a combination of coaching, set readings, individually defined CPD, online learning and reflective reviews.Students are supported by their coach, focusing on achieving high levels of impact for themselves and their organisation, by applying their learning to the workplace and evaluating the results.
The online and work based learning elements of this programmes are delivered and accredited through ibp academy and the executive coaching element is delivered by Lesley Hunter.
The programme duration is typically around 12 months and the Diploma is based on five central themes:
- Leadership in practice
- Continuing professional development
- Strategic decision making
- Leading a complex project to achieve results
- Making the most of change
There are no specific entry requirements but participants will normally be either practising or aspiring senior managers with the ability to meet the assessment demands. They will normally be expected to be able to demonstrate this through holding some form of leadership and/or qualification at Level 5 or above.
