The C-3 was standardised on May 28th 1936. Made from a 1/4 inch fleece depth shearling, it was designed to be worn under a flying jacket or suit as an extra layer of insulation, a body warmer. It has a simple 8-piece construction with a zip closure down the front. Oddly, these were never made with the inclusion of a manufacturer's nomenclature label. This is peculiar, as it was a proper government contracted item. It was used throughout the whole of WWII.Our C-3 is the first since WWII. Made to the same specification, from our 1/4 inch North American sheepskin, with the exception that we have included a maker's label, we'd like people to know who made it!
