Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Shopcreator (“we”, “us”, “our”) is part of the Simply Evolve Ltd Group. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit shopcreator.com or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions, you can contact us at:
What data we collect
We collect personal data in a few ways:
- When you contact us — through our contact form, by email or by phone, we collect your name, email address, phone number and whatever else you choose to tell us, so we can respond to your enquiry.
- When you download a guide or fill in a lead form — we collect your name, email address and company details to send you the resource you asked for and, where you’ve agreed, relevant follow-up information.
- Automatically, when you browse our site — through cookies and similar technologies, covered below.
- If you become a client — we collect the additional information needed to host, support and invoice for your ecommerce store, such as billing and technical contact details.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use our site and to improve it. The tools we currently use include:
- Google Analytics — website usage statistics (pages visited, time on site, general location).
- Hotjar — anonymised session recordings and heatmaps, to understand how visitors use our pages.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — to measure the effectiveness of our Facebook/Instagram advertising and show relevant ads to people who’ve visited our site.
- HubSpot — to manage marketing communications for visitors who submit a form or subscribe.
- Keap/Infusionsoft — our customer relationship management system, used to manage enquiries and client communications.
Some of these tools are provided by companies based outside the UK (including the US). Where that’s the case, they provide appropriate safeguards for that transfer, such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent standard contractual clauses.
Why we process your data
We rely on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:
- Legitimate interests — responding to enquiries, understanding how our site is used, and improving our services.
- Consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Contract — where we need your data to provide hosting, support or development services you’ve engaged us for.
How long we keep your data
We keep enquiry and marketing data for as long as it’s useful for the purpose it was collected for, or until you ask us to delete it. Client data is kept for the duration of our contract with you and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Ask us to delete your data, where there’s no legal reason for us to keep it.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (such as marketing emails).
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@shopcreator.com.
